The Akbulak Riviera Penthouse is a spacious, two-level residence with breathtaking panoramic views of the city, set in a picturesque location where two rivers converge.
The interior concept is best described as refined, mature, and perfectly balanced—free from unnecessary details or visual excess.
A noble combination of natural wood, marble, and leather fills the space with warmth, while blinds on the panoramic windows shape the incoming light, casting carefully orchestrated, dramatic shadows.
This design thrives on subtle nuances, unexpected contrasts, and a precise equilibrium between luxury and restraint.
The first floor houses a spacious communal area: a double-height living room, an open kitchen and dining space, a guest bathroom, and a guest bedroom.
The second floor is dedicated to privacy, featuring a master suite and three children's bedrooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom.
Originally, the apartment felt confined, with a maze of corridors and numerous small rooms. We completely reimagined the layout—flooding the shared spaces with light and openness while ensuring the private areas exude warmth and seclusion.
Open-plan design, a lack of unnecessary elements, and expansive panoramic windows visually expanded the boundaries, creating an interior that feels airy, free, and effortlessly light.
The living area is divided into a family zone and a guest zone, each with its own functional concept, most notably reflected in the choice of sofas.
In the family zone, the sofa is soft, with deep seating and a low profile—it embraces you, creating a cocoon of comfort. Designed for lounging, it’s perfect for relaxing in a semi-reclined position, watching TV in cozy, informal attire.
In contrast, the guest zone features a firmer, shallower sofa, designed for upright seating in everyday clothing. With no TV in this space, the focus is on conversation, while the sofa by the panoramic glass wall becomes the focal point—offering breathtaking views of the city.
The kitchen and dining area seamlessly continue the project's overarching concept—expansive, filled with light, and designed to evoke a sense of openness and freedom. By merging these zones, we created an airy, flowing space where natural light pours in through large windows. The eucalyptus paneling, consistent throughout the first floor, enhances the sense of cohesion and harmony.
The kitchen area features a Poliform kitchen and island, elegantly paired with Gaggenau appliances—where aesthetics and functionality converge.
At the heart of the dining area stands a large square table, designed to bring the family together, fostering connection and conversation—an essential element for the homeowners. Completing the space is a refined Poliform shelving unit, adding a touch of elegance and sophistication.
In this intimate space, the essence of the interior unfolds in fine detail, making the bathroom a seamless extension of the overall design.
The veined marble is enhanced by delicate milling, while warm eucalyptus panels echo the finishes of the first floor. Elegant Antonio Lupi fixtures elevate the space into a true work of art.
More than just a functional room, this bathroom is an integral part of the penthouse—embodying its character, sophistication, and style.
Located on the first floor, the guest bedroom is set apart from the family zone, offering a secluded and tranquil space for visitors.
Its interior draws inspiration from luxury hotel suites while seamlessly maintaining the penthouse’s signature design aesthetic, ensuring harmony and continuity throughout.
The master suite is designed to feel open and airy, allowing the space to breathe. To the right of the entrance, a delicate walk-in closet with a boudoir area is defined by the Poliform Lexington system, which enhances the sense of lightness. A refined partition with graphic cutouts separates it from the bedroom, creating a dynamic interplay of light and shadow.
At the heart of the space, the Living Divani bed is complemented by linen-upholstered walls, adding warmth and softness. Positioned opposite the panoramic window, the iconic Fiam Ghost chair, long regarded as a collectible art piece, completes the composition.
The space is entirely clad in Italian Carrara marble, creating a seamless sense of purity and refinement. At the window, an Agape bathtub, sculpted from the same stone, transforms daily rituals into an immersive experience.
The vanity wall features a delicately textured marble relief, adding depth to the space. The shower area, flush with the floor, maintains an uninterrupted surface—its discreet drain seamlessly concealed beneath marble slabs.
A standout feature is the Agape shower system, where the upper glass bracket ingeniously doubles as the overhead showerhead—an embodiment of flawless minimalist design.
Located in the private quarters of the penthouse, this additional bathroom was designed as a backup space—but in execution and aesthetics, it is on par with the rest.
The theme of natural harmony continues here: premium materials, the expressive texture of stone, and carefully selected fixtures enhance the feeling of luxury and organic beauty.
The focal point is a custom-made marble sink, a statement piece that underscores the exclusivity of the space.
While the design of the children’s rooms departs from the strict aesthetic of the penthouse, the core principles of spatial composition remain. The foundation is still modern minimalism, enriched with playful, vibrant accents.
In the girl’s room, the statement piece is the iconic Ekstrem Chair by Norwegian designer Terje Ekstrøm, adding sculptural presence and dynamic energy to the space.
Vibia Plusminus decorative lighting serves as the final touch, standing out as an artistic element both when in use and when turned off.
This room is infused with dynamism, power, and true personality. Everything has a role to play — every element is designed for action. The boxing bag isn’t just a decorative piece; it’s fully functional, ready for real training.
Textured rusted metal surfaces and a custom-made monolithic concrete sink reinforce the raw, industrial aesthetic.
Yet, there’s also a touch of irony: the Antonio Lupi showerhead, shaped like a classic lamp, playfully disrupts expectations. The atmosphere is further enhanced by a translucent ceiling with adjustable lighting, setting the mood in both the bedroom and bathroom.
This is more than just a room—it’s a personal arena, a space to release energy and recharge.
The modern world is changing rapidly—interior trends come and go, but true value lies in design that remains relevant beyond time. Rather than chasing fleeting fashions, it shapes a harmonious, balanced space that retains its expressive power for years to come.
We embrace a philosophy of simplicity and functionality, where minimal means create maximum impact. In the Akbulak Riviera penthouse, for example, the David Groppi floor lamp plays a defining role. Its sleek, precise lines reinforce the architectural character of the space, emphasizing both depth and thoughtful design.
